Ingredients

  • 4 medium apples, firm variety, peeled and cored
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 spray cooking oil spray
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce, for dipping optional

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Shallow Bowls
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. Slice peeled apples into even, fry-shaped wedges.
  2. Dip each wedge in a batter of flour, milk, and egg, then coat in a cinnamon panko mixture.
  3. Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket and spray lightly with oil.
  4. Air fry at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
  5. Cool briefly and serve warm with caramel sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for the best texture.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket for even crisping.
  • Spray tops lightly with oil to help the coating brown properly.
  • Best eaten fresh, reheat in the air fryer rather than the microwave.
